Abstract
Purpose: In this study, we confirmed the possibility of the Matrix methode as a useful analysis tool for complex optical system which consists of several lenses and analyzed some optical systems include a human eye with the methode.

Methods: We calculated refractive powers for the cornea, crystalline lens, entire optic system with Gullstrand schematic eye by the Matrix method as well as the Gaussian imagery equation and then comparative analyzed the results.

Results: The calculated refractive power of the cornea were 43.05D, 43.10D, crystalline lenses were 19.50D, 19.50D with Gaussian imagery equation and matrix method in Gullstrand¡¯s schematic eye, respectively. And refractive power of the entire optic system was 59.05D in both cases. The vertical and horizontal focal length of a myopic astigmatism human eye, adopted in this study, were 24.85 mm, 25.15 mm. and also 24.84 mm, 25.14 mm with matrix method in, respectively.

Conclusion: The results of refractive power for the cornea, crystalline lens, entire optic system in schematic eye and myopic astigmatism of a human eye were showed little difference between the two methods. Thus, the matrix methode can be used to analyze some more complex optic system include astigmatism human eye.
